Indian Bureaucracy, New Delhi, February 17, 2025| Shri Suresh K Reddy IFS (1991), presently Ambassador of India to the Federative Republic of Brazil, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Ambassador Reddy, assumed his role as Ambassador of India to Brazil on September 13, 2020, a seasoned Indian Foreign Service officer since 1991, his career includes postings in Cairo, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and Islamabad, as well as Ambassadorships to Iraq and ASEAN. He has also held key positions within the Ministry of External Affairs, including roles related to India’s neighboring countries and multilateral economic relations, and served as India’s Sous Sherpa to G20, G7, BRICS & IBSA. Prior to his current role, he was Additional Secretary (Europe). He also established and headed the first ASEAN Multilateral Economic Relations Division and in that capacity was instrumental in establishing the BIMSTEC Secretariat, while also looking after matters related to ASEM, ACD & APEC.
