India Appoints ITS Officers at ITU Geneva for AI Innovation and Telecom Study Groups

Indian Bureaucracy, New Delhi, March 26, 2025 | The Government of India has appointed two senior Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officers to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Geneva, as AI & Innovation and Study Group Coordinators.

As per an order dated March 25, 2025, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has assigned Dr Brajesh Mishra (ITS, 1993), the current Deputy Director General, Ministry of Communications, and Head of C-DOT Collaborative Research Programs (Scientist ‘G’), as Senior AI & Innovation Coordinator for India, and, Shri Prachish Khanna (ITS, 1996), the serving Deputy Director General of Department of Telecom, J&K, Jammu, as Study Group Counsellor at ITU.

ITU is a United Nations specialised agency for digital technologies (ICTs). ITU comprises of 194 Member States and over 1,000 companies, universities, and international and regional organisations.
