Shri Imtiaz Ismail Parray IPS (J&K 2009) presently Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) – Crime Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as Commandant – Indian Reserve Police (IRP) 8th Battalion.
Indian Reserve Police (IRP) was raised in 1972 for the State governments to strengthen their security and provide them with adequate force to ensure law and order especially in more disturbed areas. Each Armed/IRP Battalion is headed by a Commandant of the rank of SSsP/SsP and is deployed in UT of J&K. Presently, there are 11 Armed and 24 IRP Battalions in the UT of J&K.
