Shri Hitesh Kumar Meena IAS (Haryana 2019), presently Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Citizen Resources Information Officer, Gurugram, is transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran.
The Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran (HKKP), established under the Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran Act, 2018, is a statutory body dedicated to enhancing the welfare of farmers and agricultural workers in Haryana. HKKP acts as a Super Think Tank to integrate welfare schemes and incorporate farmers’ feedback into policies. Chaired by the Chief Minister, with the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister as Vice-Chairperson, the HKKP integrates representatives from various departments, agricultural experts, and progressive farmers to address the multifaceted challenges faced by the farming community. Its primary mission is to alleviate physical, financial, and psychological distress among farmers through sustainable and remunerative agricultural practices, while fostering policy decisions that ensure long-term prosperity.
The HKKP focuses on improving farm productivity, providing relief during natural calamities, and mitigating issues like debt and market price fluctuations. It coordinates with departments to implement schemes such as interest-free loans ranging from Rs 60,000 to Rs 3 lakh per acre, the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana for fair crop pricing, and the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal for streamlined crop registration. The authority has also introduced specialised committees to promote diverse income sources like organic farming, fish farming, and micro-irrigation. Additionally, the HKKP wants to empower women of the state by reserving 10% of vegetable mandi seats for women farmers and establishing a dedicated women’s cell.
