Shri Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana presently Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court (PHC: Andhra Pradesh) has been appointed as a Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, against a vacancy of a permanent Judge in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, with effect from the date he assumes the charge of his office.

Justice D V Ramana born to Sri Duppala Appanna, who was a Railway Gangman, and Smt. Varahalamma  on 03rd June, 1963 in Chinna Boddepalli Hamlet, Ponduru Mandal of Srikakulam District. At the age of 13 years, his father died in harness and he was brought up by his mother and elder brother Sri Duppala Venkata Satyam. Had Elementary Education in Chinna Boddepalli and Thotada, High School Education in Z.P.High School, Dusi.

Justice D V Ramana studied Intermediate in Government Junior College, Amudalavalasa and completed Graduation in M.R.College, Vizianagaram. Accomplished Bachelor of Law in N.V.P.Law College, Visakhapatnam in 1989 and Master of Law in Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. Enrolled as an Advocate in June, 1989 and joined District Bar Association, Srikakulam and practiced till June, 1990. Thereafter shifted practice to Visakhapatnam Bar Association and practiced till May, 1994. He was the first generation lawyer of the family. Selected as District Munsif in 1994 and worked in Amalapuram, Macharla, Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Tirupati.

Justice D V Ramana was promoted as Senior Civil Judge in January, 2007 and worked in Hyderabad, Tirupati and Kakinada. Promoted as District Judge in the year 2015 and functioned as VII Additional District & Sessions Judge in Kakinada. Deputed as Devasthanam Law Officer, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams from 2015 to 2017. Blessed to serve Lord Balaji in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Solved intricate legal issues in T.T.D and won accolades from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Functioned as X Additional District & Sessions Judge, Gurajala. Deputed as Law Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh from 2017 to 2019. Took initiative in repealing 140 obsolete Acts.

Justice D V Ramana is interested in Legislative Drafting. Appointed as Registrar (Management), later as Registrar (Recruitment) and further as Registrar (Administration) from June, 2019 till 03.08.2022.

Justice D V Ramana was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 04.08.2022 and worked till 30.10.2023. He took oath on 01.11.2023 as an Additional Judge of High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur.

Justice D V Ramana is married to Smt Chandrakala and blessed with two daughters Kum. Sathvika and Kum. Dedeepya.
