NBCC (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Income Tax Department for the construction of the Pratyaksha Kar Bhawan along with a residential complex and multi-story training unit setup at Kheora Bangar, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The estimated value to the project is Rs. 263 Crore.
The MoU was signed by Shri Sheodan Singh Bhadoriya, Commissioner of Income Tax and Shri Nagendra Kumar, Chief General Manager (Engg), NBCC. The event was graced by senior officials including Shri Krishna Murari, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, UP (West) and Uttarakhand, Shri Vijyanand Bhartiya, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax and Shri Vikas Choudhary, DGM (Engg), NBCC.
The Pratyaksha Kar Bhawan will serve as a state-of-the-art office space for the Income Tax Department, enhancing administrative efficiency and providing modern facilities. Additionally, the residential complex will cater to the housing needs of the department’s staff, with a variety of quarters designed to meet diverse accommodation requirements.
This project is planned to attain a GRIHA 4-Star rating, reflecting the commitment to sustainability and green building practices. The GRIHA rating is a testament to the project’s adherence to energy-efficient, eco-friendly construction methods and design, ensuring minimal environmental impact throughout its lifecycle.
The project is set to be completed within 30 months from the start date, ensuring a fast-track delivery that meets the growing infrastructural needs of the Income Tax Department in the region.
In another development, NBCC was awarded work of demolition & comprehensive design engineering, construction and furnishing of 4 buildings in Andheri and Malad area of Mumbai by New India Assurance. The value of work if approximately 136 Crore. GAIL also awarded the work of planning, designing and execution of interior/fit out works for GAIL’s new office at World Trade Center, New Delhi. The estimated value for this work is Rs. 50 Crore.

Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) announced the inauguration of its 850 th branch in Chennai
on 11 th November 2024. Also, the Bank inaugurated 5 other new branches during the day,
thereby KVB reached a significant milestone of having its total branch network to 854.
Karur Vysya Bank started in the year 1916 and today has a gamut of financial services, all
under one roof, and service millions of customers. KVB’s 56 % of branches are in rural and
semi-urban areas which is a testimony of the bank’s commitment towards financial inclusion across India.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed a vibrant gathering that included renowned

Indian Bureaucracy, New Delhi, November 12, 2024| The Government of India today approved empanelment of seven senior Central Services officers from the IRS, IPS, ICAS, IRAS, and ISS cadres for appointment to the posts of Joint Secretary at the Centre. The list of the officers is as follows.

  1. Shri Ataur Rahman IRS (C&IT 1995) has been empanelled for holding the posts of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre.
  2. Shri Vinay Kumar Singh IRS (C&IT 1997) has been empanelled for holding the posts of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre.
  3. Shri Tarun Gauba IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2001) has been empanelled for holding the posts of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre.

Professor V. Ramgopal Rao, Chairman, Board of Governors, NIFTEM-K, inaugurated the ceremony, with Dr. H.S. Oberoi, Director, delivering the welcome address. A total of 764 students were awarded degrees across various programs: 408 B.Tech, 233 M.Tech, 84 MBA, and 39 PhD. Smt. Anita Praveen presented gold medals to top achievers, commending NIFTEM-K’s contribution to the food processing sector.

Oberoi highlighted recent achievements, noting 10 patents, over 300 research publications, and impressive placement rates: 86% for B.Tech, 80% for M.Tech, and 96% for MBA graduates. Special Guest Shri Pankkaj Aggarwal expressed confidence in the graduates’ future contributions to the industry.

Concluding the event, Professor Rao emphasised NIFTEM-K’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in food technology, remarking on the significance of this year’s convocation as the Chairman, BoG, admitted all graduates for their degrees for the first time, underscoring the institute’s dedication to excellence.
