Shri Ratnakar Patnaik selected as Managing Director (MD) in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India by Financial Services Institutions Bureau.

Shri Ratnakar Patnaik assumed the role of Chief Investment Officer on April 10, 2023. He began his journey with LIC as a Direct Recruit Officer in September 1990. A Physics graduate and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, he brings over 32 years of experience, having worked across four zones, primarily in marketing roles.

Throughout his career, he has held key positions, including heading the Indore and Jamshedpur Divisions as Senior Divisional Manager and serving as Regional Manager (CLIA) in the Eastern Zone for three years. In May 2021, he was promoted to Chief (Investment – Front Office) at the Central Office.

Shri Patnaik strongly believes in teamwork and possesses a keen understanding of people. He has a deep interest in sports, movies, and books.

SJVN | Hosting 24th Inter-CPSU Cricket Tournament

SJVN is organising 24th Inter-CPSU Cricket Tournament under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board (PSCB), Ministry of Power, which commenced today in Chandigarh. PSCB consists of representatives from various CPSUs under Ministry of Power, Govt. of India and it serves as the governing body for organizing Inter-CPSU tournaments.

The tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Sanjay  Sood, CGM (F&A) during the opening ceremony. On this occasion Sh. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, HoP, Punjab Solar Power Projects and other senior officials of SJVN were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Sanjay Sood emphasized the role of sports in fostering camaraderie, teamwork and spirit of healthy competition among professionals in Power Sector. He also extended his best wishes to all participating teams for an exciting and competitive tournament.

The six-day tournament, scheduled from February 22 to February 27, 2025 has drawn enthusiastic participation from teams across  Power Sector, including teams from Ministry of Power (MoP), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Grid Controller of India, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), NHPC, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Power Grid Corporation of India, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), THDC India and host team SJVN.

With a diverse pool of talented players, the event promises to be an exhilarating showcase of sportsmanship and skill. The tournament aims to strengthen bonds among CPSUs and promote a healthy work-life balance through the spirit of game.

Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna CPSE under the aegis of the Ministry of
Petroleum & Natural Gas and a premier integrated energy company, has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mineral Exploration and Consultancy
Limited (MECL), a Miniratna-I CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of
India, to collaborate in the exploration and development of critical mineral blocks in
India and overseas. The MoU was signed in the presence of CMD, Director and
senior officers from OIL and MECL. This strategic partnership marks a significant
milestone in fostering the exploration of critical minerals both in India and overseas,
recognizing their vital importance for the nation’s energy security and sustainable
growth.
Under this collaboration, OIL and MECL will jointly undertake exploration activities
aimed at identifying, evaluating, and developing mineral-rich blocks both in India and
overseas, including the recently awarded block of OIL- The Phop Graphite and
Vanadium block in Arunachal Pradesh
