SJVN Limited, a leading Schedule ‘A’ Mini Ratna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, with great enthusiasm and active participation at its Corporate Headquarters in Shimla and across all its offices and project sites. The event was held in alignment with this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasizing the interconnectedness of individual well-being, environmental harmony, and sustainable living.
The yoga celebrations at the Corporate Headquarters were inaugurated by Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), who also led the yoga session as the Chief Guest of the occasion. He was joined by Shri Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR), Heads of Departments, senior officials, and a large number of employees. The active and enthusiastic participation reflected the organization’s collective commitment to fostering a culture of wellness and mindfulness.
To mark the day meaningfully, a special yoga session was organized in collaboration with the Isha Foundation, a globally recognized organization dedicated to inner well-being. Yoga instructors from the foundation conducted the session, guiding attendees through a comprehensive series of yoga asanas, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques. These practices were aimed at enhancing physical vitality, mental clarity, and inner peace.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma emphasized the spiritual and philosophical roots of yoga, stating, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It is not just a form of exercise, but a path to discover unity within ourselves, with the world, and with nature.” He underlined the role of yoga in building resilience, improving concentration, and fostering a balanced lifestyle, especially in today’s fast-paced world.
The event also served as a platform to promote the importance of mental and emotional well-being in the workplace. Through yoga, SJVN aims to empower its workforce with tools that help manage stress, enhance productivity, and cultivate a healthy work-life balance.
SJVN’s celebration of International Day of Yoga is part of its broader commitment to promoting sustainable and holistic development within the organization and in the communities it serves. The company continues to integrate wellness into its corporate ethos through regular awareness campaigns, wellness workshops, and health-centric programs.
The observance of the 11th International Day of Yoga reaffirmed SJVN’s dedication to contributing to a healthier society by embracing the principles of yoga—discipline, unity, and harmony—across all levels of its operations.
Through such initiatives, SJVN not only aligns with national and global wellness movements but also strengthens its identity as a socially responsible and health-conscious organization.
