Bihar Government Transfers Nine IPS Officers, Announces Key Appointments

Indian Bureaucracy Network, Patna, Bihar | The Bihar government has announced a series of major reshuffle of its IPS officers. As part of this process, nine IPS officers have been reassigned. The changes involve appointments and additional responsibilities for eight officers at the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) level and one officer at the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) level. Among the key appointments, Pankaj Kumar Darad has been named ADGP of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) with an additional role in the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU). Other notable changes include Paras Nath as the new ADGP of state CID, S Ravindran as ADGP of the Bihar State Sports Authority and Amit Kumar Jain taking on additional responsibilities related to weaker sections in the Crime Investigation Department (CID). Sudhanshu Kumar, Sunil Kumar and Kamal Kishore Singh also received new assignments, with M.R. Nayak and Kim Sharma being placed in significant roles as ADGP and DIG, respectively. The names and new roles of the officers are as follows:

1. Shri Pankaj Kumar Darad IPS (Bihar 1995), awaiting posting upon return from Central deputation, is appointed as ADGP – Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) with additional charge of the ADGP – Special Vigilance Unit (SVU).
2. Shri S Ravindran IPS (Bihar 1995), presently posted as ADGP, Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), is transferred
and appointed as ADGP – Bihar State Sports Authority with additional charge of the Director General (DG), Bihar State Sports Academy, Rajgir, Bihar.
3. Shri Amit Kumar Jain IPS (Bihar 1995), presently ADGP – Bihar Human Rights Commission, given additional charge of the ADGP – Weaker section, Crime Investigation Department (CID).
4. Shri Sudhanshu Kumar IPS (Bihar 1996), presently ADGP (traffic), given additional charge of the Additional Commissioner – Civil Defense, Bihar.
5. Shri Sunil Kumar IPS (Bihar 1996), presently ADGP (Special Branch), given additional charge of the ADGP – Economic Offence Unit (EOU).
6. Shri Kamal Kishore Singh IPS (Bihar 1996), presently ADGP-cum-additional commissioner, is transerred and appointed as ADGP – Budget, Appeal and Welfare, Bihar Police, replacing Shri Paras Nath IPS (Bihar 1996) ADGP, CID.
7. Shri Paras Nath IPS (Bihar 1996) is the new ADGP, CID.
8. Shri M R Nayak IPS (Bihar 1998), presently ADGP (ATS) has been appointed as ADGP – Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), replacing Shri S Ravindran.
9. Smt Kim Sharma IPS (Bihar 2008), has been posted as DIG CID.
