BHEL commissions 600 MW Thermal power plant in AP

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has effectively dispatched a 600 MW coal-based warm power plant in the province of Andhra Pradesh.The unit has been charged at Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project, of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO), situated in Cuddapah District of Andhra Pradesh.

BHEL has a longstanding association with APGENCO having provided 100% of its coal-based power creating sets. At display, BHEL is setting up two supercritical units of 800 MW rating in the province of Andhra Pradesh, one each at Vijaywada and at Krishnapatnam.

BHEL’s extent of work for the Rayalaseema venture incorporates configuration, building, producing, supply, erection and authorizing of Steam Generator, Turbo Generator, ESP alongside related Auxiliaries, Electricals, best in class Controls and Instrumentation (C&I), and Switchyard.

The key hardware for the task has been fabricated by BHEL at its Haridwar, Trichy, Bhopal, Ranipet, Hyderabad, Jhansi and Bengaluru plants, while the development of the plant was attempted by the organization’s Power Sector-Southern Region.

Altogether, 600 MW sets are in-house designed, higher rating units in light of BHEL’s exceedingly fruitful 500 MW rating units, which shape the foundation of the Indian Power Sector. Up until now, BHEL has effectively dispatched 18 sets of 600 MW rating in the nation.
