He conveyed his greetings on behalf of 140 crore Indians, emphasizing the athletes as a source of inspiration for future sports enthusiasts. Highlighting the historic achievement in the 72-year history of the Asian Games, he noted that Indian athletes had broken numerous records and set new Asian records, including 29 medals in athletics and 22 in shooting.

Attributing the success to Prime Minister Modi’s vision, the provided facilities, and the unwavering dedication of the players, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur expressed gratitude for the collective effort that secured India’s 100 medals. He commended all the sportspersons for etching their names in the history of these Asian Games.

Acknowledging the excellent performance of the hockey team, he anticipated that this success would boost confidence in future tournaments. Thakur emphasized PM Modi’s slogan of “Kheloge toh Khiloge,” noting that a shift in mindset and the provision of facilities were yielding positive results in today’s sporting landscape.
