Shri Amit Kumar Singh IOFS (2011), presently in cadre, is appointed as Director – Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, Delhi, on Central Deputation basis under Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years.
The Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, is responsible for land management and administration. Its primary function is the implementation of the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP), which digitises land records and maps, and streamlines survey and registration procedures. The department also manages watershed development programs, notably the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY), focusing on natural resource conservation and rural livelihood improvement. Land reform initiatives are also within its purview, addressing equitable land access and sustainable land use. The department’s objectives include improving land record accessibility, reducing land disputes, and promoting transparent land administration.
