Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the prestigious Training Command of the Indian Air Force on 01 May 2025. Marking the solemn occasion, the Air Marshal paid homage to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the Training Command War Memorial, reflecting his deep respect for the sacrifices of the brave.
A distinguished alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on 13 June 1987. A Category ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor, he has clocked over 4,500 hours of flying experience. He is also an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and the National Defence College, testifying to his exceptional academic and operational credentials.
Throughout his illustrious career, the Air Marshal has held a range of pivotal command and staff appointments. His leadership includes command of a Fighter Squadron, a Radar Station, a premier Fighter Base, and the vital role of Air Officer Commanding, Jammu and Kashmir. On the staff side, his roles have spanned Operational Staff at Command HQ, Air Commodore (Personnel Officers-1) at Air HQ, and senior appointments at the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), including Deputy Assistant Chief of IDS (Financial Planning).
He has also made notable contributions as Air Commodore (Aerospace Safety), Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Offensive), ACAS Ops (Strategy), and most recently as the Senior Air Staff Officer of Eastern Air Command, Shillong. Prior to assuming his current post, he served as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhavan), where he played a key role in operational planning and modernization.
In recognition of his exemplary and distinguished service, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has been decorated with the Vayu Sena Medal in 2007 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 by the Hon’ble President of India.
