Indian Bureaucracy, New Delhi, January 03, 2025| Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Notifies Key Appointments to Strategic Roles
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), operating under the direct supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has announced the appointment of five senior IAS officers and one officer from the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) as Additional Secretaries in key departments of the Government of India. The appointments are critical to India’s infrastructure, resource management, and national welfare.
The officers will assume leadership roles in departments such as Civil Aviation, Power, Jal Shakti, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the Interstate Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and the Food Corporation of India (FCI), a pivotal institution ensuring food security in the country.
- Shri Faiz Ahmed Kidwai IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1996) presently Additional Secretary- Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers
Welfare appointed as Director General – Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation ( rank and pay of Additional Secretary). - Shri Akash Tripathi IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1998) presently CEO- MyGoV, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology appointed as Additional Secretary- Ministry of Power.
- Shri Kamal Kishore Soan IAS (Jharkhand 1998) presently Additional Secretary- Ministry of Labour & Employment appointed as Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti .
- Shri Ashutosh Agnihotri IAS (Assam Meghalaya 1999) presently Additional Secretary-
Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs as Chairman & Managing Director- Food Corporation of India (rank and pay of Additional Secretary) - Ms. Shubha Thakur CSS 1989 presently Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare appointed as Additional Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Shri Vinay Kumar IAS (Bihar 1999) presently Joint Secretary- Ministry of Road Transport & Highways appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
