Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, CnC Western Naval Command, commissioned INS TARASA into the Indian Navy, at a function organized at the naval dockyard in Mumbai today. CMD of Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers V. K Saxena was present on this occasion.

Luthra said that commissioning of INS TARASA is a proud moment and shot in the arm for western naval command and it will further strengthen the defense of the west coast. He said that INS TARASA has completed all weapons and other trials, and Navy wants to follow it in its other products too.

He also spoke about the commissioning of class 75 submarines. The Kalvari submarine is delivered after spending 110 days at sea doing various trials, and is expected to be commissioned by coming December.
