Capt (IN Retd.) Jagmohan presently Director (Corporate Planning, Projects and Business Development), Goa Shipyard Limited has been appointed as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) .
Capt. (IN Retd.) Jagmohan has been appointed as the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL). Prior to this, he was serving as Director (Corporate Planning, Projects and Business Development) at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a role he assumed on 15th December 2019.
An accomplished Naval Architect, Capt. Jagmohan is an alumnus of the Cochin University of Science & Technology. He further enhanced his technical acumen by earning a postgraduate degree and M.Tech in Naval Construction & Ocean Engineering from IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur, respectively.
With over 25 years of distinguished service in the Indian Navy, Capt. Jagmohan held several critical roles, notably in the Directorate of Naval Design (DND) and at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. His naval career reflects deep expertise in warship design, construction, and project management.
Before joining GSL, he served as Chief General Manager (Design) at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), Kolkata, where he led the design of sophisticated naval platforms. Under his leadership, GRSE executed complex warship projects, including the Advanced Stealth Frigate, P28 ASW Corvette, Survey Vessels, ASW Shallow Water Crafts, and Fast Patrol Vessels for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
Capt. Jagmohan brings with him a wealth of technical knowledge, strategic planning capabilities, and proven leadership in shipbuilding—assets that are expected to further strengthen MDL’s pivotal role in India’s defense manufacturing landscape.
