Shri Santosh Rastogi IPS (Maharashtra 1998), presently on Central Deputation and posted as Inspector General of Police (IG), NIA, Ministry of Home Affairs, given extension of Central Deputation tenure for a period of two years beyond 05.08.2025 till 05.08.2027.

Shri Santosh Rastogi has served as Joint Commissioner of Crime and Joint Commissioner of Administration of Mumbai Police, as well as being additional resident commissioner of Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi. He is recipient of HM Special Operation Medal.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is India’s primary counter-terrorism agency, established after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, it investigates and prosecutes crimes threatening national security, including terrorism and insurgency. The NIA handles cases with inter-state and international implications and has the authority to investigate offenses committed abroad.
