Shri George Kurian has been allocated the portfolios of Minister of State in the Ministry of Minority Affairs and Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by the President at Rashtrapati Bhawan on June 9th, 2024. Welcoming him were Secretary Shri Srinivas Katikithala and other senior officials of the Ministry. Shri Kurian hails from Nambiakulam in Ettumanoor. An LLB graduate with a post-graduation in Master of Arts, he practices law in the Supreme Court of India. Previously, he served as the vice-chairman of the National Commission for Minorities. Speaking with the media, Shri Kurian expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the opportunity and pledged to work towards improving the socio-economic conditions of minority communities in the country.
