Shri Piyush Goyal has been allocated the portfolio as Minister of Commerce and Industry. Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal officially assumed charge of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi. Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shri Jitin Prasada; Secretary, Department of Commerce, Shri Sunil Barthwal and Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, along with senior officers of the Ministry were present on the occasion.
On assuming charge, Shri Piyush Goyal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve the nation. He praised PM Modi’s development-oriented governance, stressing the need to continue building on this foundation. Shri Goyal highlighted the importance of working diligently during the “Amrit Kaal” for rapid advancements in commerce and industry. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating opportunities for youth and ensuring the welfare of all citizens. Under PM Modi’s leadership, India is set to achieve new heights, with collective efforts driving towards a brighter future under the philosophy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Prayas.”
