Railway Ministry has extended the relaxation in upper age limit for the ongoing recruitment of Group C Level-1 and Level-2 posts. An official release said, it has extended the upper age limit by two years. For Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician the upper age limit will be 30 years for General candidates, 33 for OBC, 35 each for SC and ST candidates. Earlier, the upper age limit was 28 for general categories, 31 for OBC, 33 each for SC and ST candidates.

However, for Group C Level-1 post like Track maintainer, Pointsman, Helper, Gateman, Porter, the upper age limit will be 33 years for General candidates, 36 for OBC, 38 each for SC and ST candidates. Earlier, the upper age was 31 for general categories, 34 for OBC, 36 each for SC and ST candidates.
The Ministry said the last date for submission of application will be extended suitably. The government has also decided that the questions in regional languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Odiya, Telugu, Bangla and others will be available for candidates to take the exam.

Railways have announced the recruitment of 89 thousand 409 posts.
