The Indian Panorama, an integral part of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has unveiled the selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films that will be showcased at the 54th IFFI, taking place from November 20th to 28th, 2023 in Goa. The Indian Panorama is organized by the National Film Development Corporation under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Its purpose is to select feature and non-feature films that demonstrate cinematic, thematic, and aesthetic excellence.

These selections are made by twelve jury members for feature films and six jury members for non-feature films, each led by a respective chairperson. These eminent personalities from the world of cinema in India come together to ensure that the films chosen for the Indian Panorama represent the diverse and vibrant aspects of Indian filmmaking.

The selected films will be featured at IFFI and are also eligible for screening at various international film festivals, Indian film weeks under bilateral cultural exchange programs, specialized Indian film festivals abroad, and special Indian Panorama festivals in India. This platform promotes Indian films and cultural diversity through the medium of cinema.

Feature Films

The Feature Film Jury, comprising twelve members, was headed by acclaimed Film Director, Actor and Producer; Chairperson Shri. Dr. T. S. Nagabharana. The Feature Jury is constituted of the following Members who individually represent various acclaimed films, and film-related professions, while collectively representing the diverse Indian fraternity:

A package of 25 Feature films has been selected to be screened in the Indian Panorama section at the 54th IFFI from a broad spectrum of 408 contemporary Indian feature films. The following package of feature films reflects the vibrancy and diversity of the Indian film industry.

The Feature Film Jury’s choice for the opening feature film of Indian Panorama 2023 is the film Aattam, (Malayalam) directed by Mr Anand Ekarshi.

Non-Feature Films

The Non-Feature Film Jury, comprising six members, was headed by acclaimed documentary film Director Shri. Arvind Sinha. The Non-Feature Jury is constituted of the following Members who individually represent various acclaimed films and film-related professions, while collectively representing the diverse Indian fraternity:

A package of 20 Non-Feature films have been selected to be screened in the Indian Panorama section at 54th IFFI from a broad spectrum of 239 contemporary Indian non-feature films. The package of non-feature films exemplifies the capacity of emerging and established filmmakers to document, investigate, entertain and also reflect contemporary Indian values.

The Non-Feature Film Jury’s choice for the opening non-feature film of Indian Panorama, 2023 is ‘Andro Dreams (Manipuri) directed by Ms. Longjam Meena Devi.

The Indian Panorama was introduced in 1978 as part of the IFFI umbrella to promote Indian Films along with India’s rich culture and heritage with the help of cinematic art. Since its inception, the Indian Panorama has been completely devoted to showcasing the best Indian films of the year. The selected films for Indian Panorama section, with an aim for the promotion of film art through, will also be screened for non-profit screening in international film festivals in India and abroad, Indian Film Weeks held under Bilateral Cultural Exchange Programmes and Specialized Indian Film Festivals outside cultural exchange protocols, and special Indian Panorama festivals in India.
