Guwahati | 11.06.25- The Assam Government has implemented a reshuffle involving four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with immediate effect, marking a strategic move aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency across key departments. This latest bureaucratic rejig reflects the state government’s ongoing efforts to streamline governance and optimize resource management by placing experienced officers in crucial roles.

  1. Shri Rakesh Kumar IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2005) currently MD- APDCL and Commissioner & Secretary – Fishery and Excise Departments and Chairman- APGCL (addl) is relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner & Secretary – Fishery Department.
  2. Shri Manvendra Pratap Singh IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2012) currently Secretary – Act East Policy Affairs Department and MD- AIDC (addl) is relieved from the additional charge of MD, AIDC and given additional charge as Secretary – Fishery Department and Commissioner of Transport, Assam .
  3. Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2014) currently Secretary – Health & FW Department is now appointed as Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
  4. Shri Megha Nidhi Dahal IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2015) currently Commissioner- Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Commissioner of Transport, Assam (addl) is now appointed as MD, AIDC.

The transfers are expected to bring fresh perspectives to their respective departments while ensuring smoother coordination in policy execution. Such changes are often instrumental in maintaining administrative dynamism and reinforcing public service delivery in the state.
