17 Bihar IPS Reshuffle, Pankaj Darad IPS appointed ADG – ATS, Law & Order and Vigilance

Indian Bureaucracy, Patna, April 22, 2025| The Bihar Government’s Home Department today restructured the roles of senior IAS officers. The state has reassigning additional responsibilities and realigned many of their portfolios. Full-time appointments were also made to critical positions, including training centers, academies, CID, Special Police Units, and Economic and Cyber Offence offices. A detailed list of officers and their portfolios is provided below.

1. Shri Pankaj Kumar Darad IPS (Bihar 1995), presently Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Bihar, Patna, with additional charge ADG, Special Vigilance Unit, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as ADG – ATS, Bihar, with additional charge of ADG – Law & Order, and ADG – Special Vigilance Unit, Bihar.
2. Dr Amit Kumar Jain IPS (Bihar 1996), presently ADG, Weaker Sections, CID, Bihar, is given additional charge of ADG – Prohibition, Bihar.
3. Shri Rakesh Rathi IPS (Bihar 2002), presently Inspector General of Police (IG), Technical Services and Communications, Bihar, with additional charge of IG, Economic Offences Unit (Cyber Crime), Bihar, is relieved of additional charge of IG, Economic Offences Unit (Cyber Crime), Bihar, and given additional charge of IG – Special Branch, Bihar.
4. Shri Ranjit Kumar Mishra IPS (Bihar 2007), presently IG, Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), Patna, is given additional charge of IG – Training, Bihar, Patna.
5. Shri Babu Ram IPS (Bihar 2009), presently Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Personnel, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as DIG – BSAP (North Range), Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
6. Shri Jayant Kant IPS (Bihar 2009), presently DGP, CID, Bihar, is given additional charge of DIG – State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Patna, Bihar.
7. Shri Manavjit Singh Dhillon IPS (Bihar 2009), presently DIG, Economic Offences Unit, Bihar, Patna, with additional charge of DIG, Prohibition, Bihar, is relieved of additional charge.
8. Shri Rajiv Mishra IPS (Bihar 2010), presently DIG, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Bihar, Patna, is given additional charge of DIG – Prohibition, Bihar.
9. Shri Abhay Kumar Lal IPS (Bihar 2010), presently DIG, State Crime Records Bureau, Patna, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as DIG-cum-Deputy Director – Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir.
10. Shri Tauhid Parwez IPS (Bihar 2010), presently DIG, Railways, Patna, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as DIG – CID, Bihar, Patna.
11. Shri Rajendra Kumar Bheel IPS (Bihar 2011), presently DIG, CID, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Personnel, Patna, Bihar.
12. Shri Deepak Ranjan IPS (Bihar 2012), presently Commandant, BSAP-3, Bodhgaya, Bihar is given additional charge of Commandant – BSAP-17, Bodhgaya.
13. Shri Rajiv Ranjan IPS (Rajiv Ranjan-1 Bihar 2012), Superintendent of Police (SP), Law and Order, Patna, is transferred and appointed as SP – EOU, Patna, Bihar.
14. Smt Bina Kumari IPS (Bihar 2013), presently Assistant Director, Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir, is transferred and appointed as SP – Rail, Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
15. Shri Ashok Kumar Prasad IPS (Bihar 2013), presently Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-12, Bhimnagar, Supaul, with additional charge of Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-15, Bhimnagar, Supaul, is transferred and posted as DIG – Training, Patna.
16. Shri Vinay Tiwari IPS (Bihar 2015), presently SP – Railways, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as SP – EOU, Cyber Investigation & Operation, Patna, Bihar.
17. Shri Chandra Prakash IPS (Bihar 2019), presently Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-17, Bodhgaya, Bihar, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Director – Bihar Police Academy (BPA), Rajgir, Bihar.
