Indian Bureaucracy, Lucknow, May 06, 2025 | The Uttar Pradesh government announced the transfer of 14 IPS officers on May 8, 2025. Inspector General of Varanasi, Shri Mohit Gupta, has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Home Department of Uttar Pradesh.

This order includes, three transfers at the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) levels, along with seven routine transfers at the Superintendent of Police (SP) level.

The complete list of officers, their new assignments, and place of work is provided below.

  1. Shri Mohit Gupta IPS (UP 2006), presently Inspector General of Police, Varanasi Range, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Home, Uttar Pradesh.
  2. Shri Ajay Kumar Sahni IPS (UP 2009), presently DIG Saharanpur, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Bareilly Range, Uttar Pradesh.
  3. Shri Vaibhav Krishna IPS (UP 2010), presently DIG, Maha Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Varanasi Range, Uttar Pradesh.
  4. Shri Abhishek Singh IPS (UP 2011), presently SSP Muzaffarnagar, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Saharanpur Range, Uttar Pradesh.
  5. Shri Raj Karan Nayyar IPS (UP 2012), presently SSP, Ayodhya, is transferred and appointed as SSP – Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
  6. Dr Gaurav Grover IPS (UP 2013), presently SSP, Gorakhpur, is transferred and appointed as SSP – Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
  7. Shri Sanjai Kumar IPS (UP 2014), presently SSP, Etawah, is transferred and appointed as SSP – Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
  8. Shri Anoop Kumar Singh IPS (UP 2014), presently Commander, 35th Battalion PAC, is transferred and appointed as SP – Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.
  9. Shri Brijesh Kumar Srivastava IPS (UP 2015), presently SP Kaushambi, is transferred and appointed as SP – Etawah, Uttar Pradesh.
  10. Shri Rajesh Kumar IPS (Rajesh Kumar-II, UP 2015), presently DCP, Ghaziabad, is transferred and appointed as SP – Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh.
  11. Shri Dhawal Jaiswal IPS (UP 2016), presently SP, Fatehpur, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Ghaziabad Commissionerate, Uttar Pradesh.
  12. Shri Satyajeet Gupta IPS (UP 2017), presently SP, Sant Kabir Nagar, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Kanpur Nagar Commissionerate, Uttar Pradesh.
  13. Shri Sandeep Kumar Meena IPS (UP 2018), presently SP, Government Railway Police (GRP) Gorakhpur, is transferred and appointed as SP – Sant Kabir Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
  14. Shri Laxmi Nivas Mishra IPS, presently SP, Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO), HQ, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as SP – Government Railway Police (GRP) Gorakhpur.
