NLC India Limited observed 8th Public Sector Day on 11th April and also observed weeklong Public Sector Day celebrations from 10th to 15th April, 2017, under the aegis of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), an apex body for Central Government owned Public Enterprises/Public Sector Undertakings,
On 15th April 2017 the valedictory of weeklong Public Sector Day celebrations was observed at Yagneswaran Hall, Learning and Development Centre, Neyveli, wherein Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD,NLC IL the chief guest addressed the employees.
In his special address CMD, NLC I said PSU’s of the nation are competing with Global players and driving economic growth in several sectors and with their significant achievements in Corporate Governance and CSR actively contributing towards inclusive and sustainable growth of the country. He said nation and society needs services of public sector employee at greater extent, every employee should feel proud as part of Public Sector organization and be responsible to take care of society with great consciences.
Functional Directors, Shri V.Thangapandian, Shri Subirdas, Shri R.Vikraman graced the occasion. Shri R.Mohan CGM/CSR presented report on activities organized as part of week long celebrations of 8th Public Sector Day.
CMD & Functional Directors distributed the certificates to women who underwent training in Tailoring, Gem& jewellery making under women empowerment, driving licenses to person who underwent training in Light Motor Vehicle & Heavy motor vehicle driving. Also more than 40 students from Neyveli Schools who participated in skill development training in domestic electricals maintenance and Mobile servicing as part of public sector day celebrations were provided with Certificate and electrical maintenance tools kit
During this week long celebrations, an exhibition is organized for effective dissemination of information about the activities of NLC IL CSR Activities under Swachh Bharath, Skill India, Digital India for the general public from April 11th to 16th, 2017 at Lignite Hall, Neyveli. In addition to this, a week long Skill Development Workshop for school children organized which are drew huge response from all walks of life.
Also, a CSR campaigning Mobile Van for peripheral villages is organized by depicting the NLCIL CSR initiatives and Trainings offered under Skill Development & Women Empowerment has been organized for the benefit of the people in peripheral villages to create awareness and to make them enroll in these trainings.
