Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) a subsidiary of Coal India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) to supply sand at a fraction of the market price. NIT will use this sand in the construction of low cost housing under the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme – “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna”.
In an out of the box idea, Nagpur area of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has invented and fabricated in its workshop, a separator which will segregate sand from its overburden dump in Bhanegaon open cast mine. The cost of this sand will be 25% that of the market price.
