Shri Vinit Kumar IRSEE (1993) presently  Chairman – Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, has been given  additional charge of Chairman- Paradip Port Trust , Odisha. Shri Vinit Kumar took charge as Chairman of Kolkata Port Trust on 9th October, 2017. Earlier Kumar was Chief Electrical Engineer in Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation, and was looking after the World Bank funded MUTP Project. He held administrative post of Secretary,
Central Railway and gained multi-dimensional experience in general administration. Kumar worked in Central Railway in Mumbai suburban system in maintenance and operations of rolling stock and traction installations. He also worked in Pune and Nagpur in independent charge of traction assets and locomotive workshop. He attained BE in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, and also holds PGDBA in marketing from Symbiosis Institute. Kumar has also undergone a training programme in Management from ICLIF, Malaysia and INSEAD, Singapore. He has widely travelled to various countries like UK, Sweden, and Germany for study of systems being followed there for operations, maintenance and infrastructure development.
