Smt. Yogamaya Acharya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club, Neyveli & Sneha opportunity Services distributed Certificates and School Kits at Neyveli to Students who had attended free coaching classes “VETTRIPPADI” (Step to Victory), a programme organized by NLC under its CSR scheme.
NLC under CSR had running a project, “Vettrippadi” through Neyveli Tamil Sangam, for peripheral village students who are to pursue class X through tamil medium. For the present academic year Vettripadi, free coaching class began on 02- 05-2016 to provide proper foundation and to create confidence in students for competing 10 th Board exam. The major focus was given to simplify subjects like Mathematics, Science, English and Personality Development Programme is also a part of this project.
Around 520 students from 17 schools from peripheral villages attended this one month programme wherein 99 % students belong to weaker section and 56% among them were girls.
The valedictory function for the programme, “Vettrippadi”, was held at Lignite Hall, Block-11, Neyveli on 28.05.2016. Smt Yogamaya Acharya President, Neyveli Ladies Club participated as Chief Guest of the function. In her address, she thanked NLC management and Neyveli Tamil Sangam , for this wonderful initiative.
She said, the formulation of this coaching project VETRIPPADI is very special and unique. It focuses on imparting linguistic and mathematical skills that will help you in securing a respectable position in the society. It also helps in clearing the Secondary School Board Examination with flying colors.
She wished all students to aim to achieve laurels in academic as well as co- scholastic arena and makes your parents and teachers proud. Smt Yogamaya Acharya along with Smt Kanchan Rakesh Kumar, Smt Devaki ThangaPandian and Santhi Selva Kumar , patrons of Neyveli Ladies Club gave away the school kits to the students.
School children from Government High School who attended the classes, while expressing their feedback, said that this training programme has given them a self confidence to secure highest marks. They thanked NLC management for providing this opportunity to improve their education standards.
Shri N. Muthu, Executive Director/HR, Shri I. Nedumaran, Secretary, NLC Schools , Shri R. Govinda Rajan ADGM/CSR and other senior officials ,employees participated the programme. Earlier, Shri R. Govinda Rajan ADGM/CSR welcomed the gathering and Shri V, Subachandran ,Treasurer ,Neyveli Tamil sangam rendered vote of thanks Students of Vettripadi programme presented colorful cultural programmes .
