UP Chief Secretary orders inspection of all petrol pumps

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar has ordered inspection of all petrol pumps across the state to curb petrol and diesel theft by fuel station owners.

Instructions have been given to form a joint team of officials of separate departments to launch an extensive checks at all 6,600 petrol pumps across the state. The decision was taken during a meeting of Chief Secretory with the officials of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Principal Secretary Home, DGP , ADG Law and Order and other concerned departments held at Lucknow.

The move follows after Special Task Force of police busted short supply of fuel to the consumers by fitting electronic chip in pumps. After that Union minister for petroleum Dharmedra Pradhan had ordered to check and re-assess fuel stations in state. After the order, concerned officials swing in action.
