TCIL pays 7% of Profit after tax as Dividend

Shri Vimal Wakhlu, Chairman & Managing Director, Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 10.327 million to Hon’ble Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Communications and IT in presence of Shri Rakesh Garg, Chairman, Telecom Commission and Secretary (Telecom), Department of Telecommunications and other Senior Officers of Department of Telecommunications. TCIL has cumulatively paid dividend of Rs. 1.8 Billion since its inception, as against a direct Government investment in Equity of Rs. 3 Million.

The consolidated Net worth of the Company is Rs. 16 Billion. Established in 1978, TCIL is a Mini Ratna Category I Company under the Ministry of Communications and IT, Department of Telecommunications. Government of India holds 100% of its share capital. As a prime Engineering and Consultancy Company, TCIL undertakes projects in all fields of Telecommunications, IT and Infrastructure Projects in India and Abroad.tcil-indianbureaucracy

TCIL is currently operating over 58 countries. Company has established a Pan-African e-Network for Tele-medicine and Tele-education in 48 African Countries. Company is also operating in UAE, Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Mauritius, Algeria, Myanmar, Nepal, Qatar, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Sudan. Company’s core competence is in the field of e-Networking, Switching, Transmission Systems, Cellular Services, Satellite Communications, Rural Telecommunications, Optical Fibre based backbone transmission systems, IT & Networking Solutions, e- Governance and Wireless Technologies.

Apart from Project Management, Civil & Architectural Consultancy for Cyber Parks, Telecom Complexes, Electronic Cities and Civil Construction Projects are the other strengths of the Company. During the year 2013-14, consolidated Turnover of the Company increased by 9.25% to Rs. 20.790 Billion and profit after tax was Rs. 1.751 Billion. The Company has achieved a Standalone Turnover of Rs. 8.165 Billion as against Rs. 7.082 Billion during the previous year and Profit after tax was Rs. 147 Million.
