Swachh Bharath fortnight concludes at NLC India Limited

To achieve national objective of making our country clean, NLC India Limited has right from the inception of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2nd October 2014, dedicated itself to achieving this noble cause.
As part of it, two week programme is being conducted, which commenced from 1st November for spreading the message of cleanliness and contributing to keep their surroundings clean.
The fortnight started with a “Mass Cleaning Campaign” wherein Dr.Sarat Kumar Acharya administered Mass pledge to the Students. During this fortnight, around 30000 school children and employees along with their family members participated with a zeal to spread awareness about cleanliness.
Also, several programs like Street Play, Mini Marathon, Drill and competitions like Essay, Elocution , Drawing etc… highlighting the importance of cleanliness were organised in Neyveli township and peripheral Villages.
NLC with a great spirit organised Mass cleanliness drives at various villages including Uthangal, Kottarakuppam, Sidhivalagam, Mettukuppam, Vadalur, Kammapuram, Iruppu, Arasakuzhi, Karunkuzhi, Palakkollai, Marungur, Muthandikuppam, Kadampuliyur, Venkadampettai and Abatharanapuram with participation of nearly 1792 School Students from JRC ( Junior Red Cross), Scouts & Guides , NCC and faculty of NLCIL schools have created awareness about cleanliness and its importance among local villagers through interaction and rallying with banners and placards have been displayed in the village. Also a cultural programme was carried out in the form of Song, Dance and Drama.
NLC in a special event provided two type of dust-bin for Bio-degradable waste and another of dust-bin for Non Bio-degradable waste to 40 schools and 1 college in Neyveli and organised a special lecture Programmes on Personal Hygiene & Prevention of Leptospirosis by NLCIL’s doctors.
