SSB strengthens position in Sikkim, Bhutan-border area post Doklam

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said the SSB is strengthening its position in Sikkim and Bhutan-border area after Doklam issue between India and China. Speaking at the 54th raising day parade of SSB in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, his ministry has approved demand of SSB to form separate intelligence wing. He said, in this regard formation of 650 posts has also been been approved. The Home Minister said, people living near border areas are the strategic assets and government is dedicated for their welfare.

A mobile app was launched to set direct channel of communication between the Home ministry and central armed police forces. Keeping in view that any form of aggression could lead to dispute with neighbours, Mr Singh said, SSB has been quite instrumental in setting peace and harmony at very sensitive border areas of Nepal and Bhutan.
