Smt. Smriti Irani on a Three Day’s Visit to the Bahamas to Attend the 19th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers

Smt. Smriti Irani, Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India will be on a three day visit to The Bahamas, starting from 23rd June, 2015, to attend the 19th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers. In the plenary session on 24th June, 2015, a report will be presented by the Commonwealth Secretariat on “Quality Education for Equitable Development: Performance, Paths and Productivity”. Minister of HRD will be addressing the main Plenary Session and delivering her remarks with reference to the report presented by the Commonwealth Secretariat. Other Sessions include ministerial roundtables on “Quality in Education: Enhancing the Performance of Teachers:”, “ICT Integration in Education Systems and Across Sectors”, “Quality in Education”, “Post 2015 Goals for Education”, etc. Towards the end of the Session, on 26th June, 2015, a Bahamas Communique will be issued.

Minister will be accompanied by Shri Ved Prakash, Chairman, UGC, Smt. Satbir Bedi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development and Shri Chandra Bhushan Sharma, Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
