SJVN MoU with Directorate , Vocational & Industrial Training, HP

has entered into an agreement with Directorate (Technical Education), Vocational & Industrial Training, HP, Sundernagar. The MOU has been signed by Sh. D P Kaushal, Addl, GM (P&A), SJVN limited and Sh. Rajeshwar Goel, Director, Technical Education, Vocational & industrial Training, HP, Sundernagar in the benign presence of Sh. Sanjay Gupta, Principal Secretary, GoHP and Sh. N. L. Sharma, Director (Personnel) cum Chairman SJVN Foundation.

As per the MOU financial assistance of Rs. 6 Cr will be provided for up gradation of 6 Govt ITIs (Rs. 1 Cr each) in and around project areas of SJVN viz. Govt ITI Rampur Bushahar, Govt. ITI Khadhan, Govt. ITI Kumarsain & Govt. ITI Nainidhar of District Shimla and Govt. ITI Nirmand & Govt. ITI Dalash of District Kullu. The Institutional Development Plan for each ITI will be prepared as per the requirement of ITI which shall cover infrastructural facilities like modern Class Rooms, Library, Workshops, Machinery & Equipment, introduction of new trades, etc. to improve the qualitative technological demands of the industries & expanding universe of knowledge. The actual implementation will be managed by Institute Management Committee (IMC) consisting members from SJVN and technical education deptt.

Sh. Sanjay Gupta, Principal Secretary, GoHP appreciated the adoption of ITIs in rural areas by SJVN and said that these efforts of SJVN will go long way in achieving the target of meeting the requirement of skilled manpower.

On this occasion, Sh. N. L. Sharma, Chairman SJVN Foundation conveyed that the support of HP Technical education deptt. will be required for providing short term skill development training to 500 local youth in Govt ITIs during this financial year  and assured to extend complete financial assistance including the stipend to the trainees. Sh. Sharma further apprised the senior officials of HP Govt that SJVN undertakes its CSR and Sustainability projects in 6 verticals namely, Health & hygiene, Education & Skill Development, Sustainable Development, Infrastructural & community development, Assistance during natural disaster, Promotion of culture & Sports. in the last five years more than 2400 local youth have been  trained in various vocational trades namely Welder, Electrician, Site accountant, Cutting and tailoring, Hospitality, Bed side attendant etc. In the area of health, SJVN is operating 14 mobile health vans in the states of HP, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh which have benefitted more than 3 lakh patients besides 120 health camps have been organized benefitting around 30,000 patients. In addition, projects for disable section of society like providing aids and assistive devices to persons with disabilities through ALIMCO are being running.

SJVN is also active in construction of community assets like Panchayat Ghar, Mahila Mandal,, playgrounds and in last few years more than 200 community assets have been created. In addition recently SJVN has taken clue from the Clarion call of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narender Modi and contributed in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by constructing 2421 toilets under Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan.

Lastly Sh. Rajeshwar Goel, Director (Technical Education) while expressing his thanks to SJVN for extending the financial support of Rs. 6 Cr, assured that all out efforts will be made to complete this project in time and making the adopted ITIs as ‘Centers of excellence’.
