SJVN pays 21.10 Cr as final dividend cheque to HP Govt

SJVN Limited, a Mini Ratna and Schedule ‘A’ CPSU under Ministry of Power, on account of its annual financial performance has paid a total dividend of Rs.864.56 crores for its shareholders for financial year 2017-18. The Company has already paid an interim dividend of Rs. 200.45 crores in March 2018 to Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, which is holding 26.85% equity in the Company.

Shri Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN handed over the final dividend cheque for FY 2017-18 of Rs. 21.10 crores to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur at Shimla.  On this occasion Shri A.S. Bindra, Director (Finance), Sh. R.K. Bansal, Director (Electrical), Sh. Kanwar Singh, Director (Civil) and Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel)  of SJVN were also present.

While handing over the cheque to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Nand Lal Sharma informed him that Government of Himachal Pradesh has invested an equity of Rs. 1055.01 crores  in SJVN and with this dividend payment, SJVN has paid a cumulative dividend of  Rs.1485.06 crore to Government of Himachal Pradesh till date.

During the meeting Sh. Nand Lal Sharma thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister for allocating 780 MW Jhangi Thopan Hydro Electric Project to SJVN. He apprised Hon’ble Chief Minister that SJVN has all the requisite resources and expertise to execute hydro projects in typical Himalayan Geology and ensured that SJVN will make all efforts to complete the project as early as possible

He also said that, Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and besides executing projects in Himachal Pradesh; SJVN is executing projects in Nepal, Bhutan and Uttarakhand.  Also, SJVN has forayed into the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power. The Company is presently generating around 2003.2 MW of electricity from its operational projects i.e. 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station, 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project, 38 MW Sadla Wind Power Project and 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Station.
