SJVN conferred Award for Best Hydro Power Generator

SJVN has been conferred with First Runners up trophy in the category of ‘Best Hydro Power Generator’ by Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI). The award has been conferred upon SJVN for its outstanding performance in the area of Operation & Maintenance of Hydro Power Stations. This award have been received by Sh. R.K. Bansal Director (Electrical), SJVN in a function held at Goa.

Independent power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) has organised Power Awards during the 17th Regulators and Policymakers Retreat at Goa. IPPAI was set up as a not-for-pro­fit association shortly after the Government of India opened the power sector to private industry. Since its inception as an independent body in 1994, IPPAI’s aim has been to provide a neutral platform for the examination of issues critical to the development of the power sector in India.

Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. The Company has another hydro power station namely 412 MW Rampur HPS in Himachal Pradesh.

In addition to these power stations SJVN has 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra, which is already in operation.   SJVN is implementing 12 other projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra.  SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating 2000 MW of electricity.
