Sberbank | St. Petersburg Days in Mumbai, celebrating 70th anniversary of Indo-Russian diplomatic relations

The Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg conducted “St. Petersburg Days in Mumbai” to mark the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Indo-Russian diplomatic relations. As a part of this event, Sberbank India organized a business conference to discuss the economic cooperation between Russia and India.

Within the framework of the conference, representatives of the business community in India presented to the Russian partners, a review of the Indian market trends and prospects for business development. The representatives of the Russian businesses shared their experiences of successful project implementation in India. Representatives of the leading machinery company LLC “IZ-KARTEX (named after. P.G. Korobkov)” shared experience in the supply of excavators for the largest coal company ‘Coal India’ and the creation of a MRO network for the supplied equipment. Representatives of PJSC “Power Machines” spoke about the successfully implemented energy projects in India. “Russoft” presented the information security project for “Smart cities” in India and the creation of the “Eurasian quantum path”.

In turn, representatives of the leading corporations in India in the areas of energy, infrastructure and defense Larsen and Toubro, State Agency INVEST INDIA and one of the largest investment companies Hinduja Group demonstrated to the Russian partners the prospects of investing and doing business in India.

 In 2017, Sberbank India successfully financed Lighting Technologies India Ltd, a subsidiary of IGC “Lighting Technologies”, which launched a plant for the production of lighting equipment in India. This project for business development was included in the list of priority investment projects of the Indo-Russian inter-government commission.
