S M Tamgadge appointed as Special Adviser to Maharashtra CM

Shri Sandeep Madhukar Tamgadge IPS  (Nagaland 2001) presently in cadre, likely to be appointed as Special Adviser to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra fadnavis. During his stint at the Centre, Tamgadge served with CBI as SP for its Nagpur region from October 2012 and looked after the Bureau’s anti-corruption wing as well. While investigating the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case, he received threats from unidentified people pressurizing him to pull out of the case. As a result, the Bureau in July 2013 asked the Centre and the Maharashtra government to provide him with better security coverage.Having completed his tenure at the Centre, Tamgadge was recently repatriated to his cadre state of Nagaland which gave its NoC for his inter-cadre deputation to Government of Maharashtra.
