In Uttrakahnd, the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway has been blocked near Vishnuprayag in Chamoli district following a landslide yesterday evening.
Our correspondent reports that Chardham pilgrims visiting Badrinath have been stopped at different places according to their convenience. The highway has been closed for the traffic by district authority between Joshimath and Badrinath. The landslides occurred yesterday evening when huge boulders rolled down the Hathi Pahar Mountain.
According to BRO the road will be opened for the traffic by this afternoon today. Chamoli district administration has provided all facilities to pilgrims who are at Joshimath, Karnaprayag, Pipalkoti, Govindghat and Badrinath. The pilgrims have been asked to stay at these places till the way is cleared.
