REC Foundation to provide Books, Uniforms, Training to 300 Tribal Children at KISS, Bhubaneshwar

REC Foundation, the CSR arm of the power sector PSU REC Limited, has extended a support of Rs. 90 Lakh to Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneshwar, Odisha to provide education, study material, uniforms, food, bedding, medicine, toiletries and vocational training to 300 tribal children studying in the institute. The intent of the initiative is to create support mechanisms that supplement the assimilation of underprivileged children into the formal education system.

Shri S N Srinivas, CEO, REC Foundation and Shri Prashanta K. Routray, CEO, KISS signed the Memorandum of Agreement in New Delhi on 15.01.2019, in the presence of Shri S. N. Gaikwad, Executive Director (CSR) and other officials of REC and KISS. This is one of the many CSR initiatives of REC to promote education, health and welfare for the marginalized sections of the society.Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences is an organization that provides education to tribal children to eliminate poverty and hunger.

REC Limited (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Power involved in power sector financing across all segments. It has been actively supporting organizations and initiatives to promote community development including health, education, sanitation, women empowerment, skill development under CSR.
