The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today said it will issue new batch of 500 rupee banknotes with inset letter “A” in both the number panels, bearing the signature of RBI Governor Dr. Urjit R. Patel. The notes will have the year of printing ‘2017’ on the reverse. The design of these notes is similar in all respects to the 500 rupee banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series which were released post demonetization.
