Shri Prem Narayan IRSS (1990) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Headquarter (HQ), New Delhi, for a period of 03 years, extendable upto 05 years.

Shri Prem Narayan, Group General Manager (P&Q) IRCTC Ltd, holds first class degree in B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur & first Class degree in Design of Mechanical Equipments from IIT Delhi. He also holds first class degree in MBA from IIM Bangalore.

He has 19 years of experience in the areas of Supply Chain Management over Indian Railways and to the Indian Institute of Materials Management in particular. Apart from contributing more than 17 articles on various facets of Supply Chain Management in MMR, he has been instrumental in organizing several In-house programs / seminars on Indian Railways./IRCTC.

Shri Narayanwas conferred Life Fellowship by IIMM in the year 2007. Recently, he has been awarded with President’s Commendation for Article support to Materials Management Review by IIMM in December 2009

Apart from Several appreciation awards by IIMM for his exemplary contribution, he has been awarded by GM/WR for meritorious services.He has undergone 2 months training at Maxwell School of Citizenships & Public Administration, Syracuse University, USA during 2005-06.He also participated in 3 days Asia Pacific Travel Conference (ITCA), Bangkok during 2007-08.

He was awarded with Cash Award for successfully organizing National Seminar on the theme “Food Safety & Quality in Transport Sector” on 18th Sept’09 at New Delhi.Successful implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory Concept in the IRCTC Base Kitchens is the recent innovative step to the advantage of IRCTC.
