NTPC Ltd is bringing the Third edition of ‘Global Energy Technology Summit’ GETS 2016 with the Theme: “Redefining Power Generation Landscape – The ‘5R’ Way”: GETS 2016 Theme this year is line with the India’s Paris Ratification. GETS 2016 shall focus on these 5 R strategies of power generation. The summit has been designed with theme‐based presentations giving an impetus to 5R concepts:

Reduce: Fuel, Land, Water, Materials, Manpower, Time & Cost

Renewable: Solar, Wind, Biomass, geothermal, fuel cell etc

Reuse: Waste heat, Water Reuse, Ash utilization, Land reuse, Waste & Sewage recycle

Retrofit: Renovation & Modernization for Power Plants

Rebuild: New Construction Technologies, Eco Friendly materials, Green Townships & Infrastructure

To give a thrust on Digital Transformations for the new power generation landscape, a Round Table Conference has been introduced, where Video presentations will be made by CEO’s of Eminent Power sector companies.

GETS 2016 aims to create a podium for technology experts, domain experts, administrators, policy makers and stakeholders to deliberate and discuss all the future power challenges and options. A Panel discussion titled “The Shifting Energy Landscape: Challenges and Opportunities” has been planned on the inaugural day on 7th Nov 2016. Eminent panellist from IEA Paris, Industry, academia, and policy makers shall discuss and deliberate on the topic.

This year a new session namely “Make in India: Success Stories “ has been introduced to show case the sojourns of Indian manufacturers who have established manufacturing and testing facilities in India, either through indigenous efforts or by technology transfer from their principals, to manufacture super critical power plant Equipments /components.

This year also a session has been introduced for students pursing various technical courses to encourage the young minds to contribute and be a part of squad working for the low carbon power generation. A live competition of the top shortlisted technical papers by students from pan India is planned during the summit. GETS 2016 Trophy shall be awarded for winner and runners up.

Distinguished power professionals are attending the event from world over with representatives from IEA Paris, Govt. of India officials and various International Technological heads. About 145 international experts actively engaged in technology development and deployment shall be interacting with about 700 Indian experts, policy makers and various stakeholders during the three-day Summit.
