NRDC inks Technology Commercialization agreement for AYUSH

Dr. H. Purushotham Chairman & Managing Director, National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an Enterprise of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India,New Delhi  informed through the press release that NRDC and M/s Ridhi Sidhi Medicare, New Delhi have entered into License Agreements for commercialization of  AYUSH-82, an ayurvedic formulation for management of  Diabetes, Ayush–S.G for  Rheumatoid Arthritis and Herbal Formulation for Anti- Arthritis.

The ayurvedic formulations namely AYUSH 82 and AYUSH SG have been developed by Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi, an Autonomous Organisation under the Ministry of AYUSH. The Herbal Formulation for Anti- Arthritis has been developed at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat.  These three Licence agreements were signed by Dr. H. Purushotham , CMD , on behalf of National Research Development Corporation, New Delhi and Mrs Shikha Garg, Proprietress , M/s Ridhi Sidhi Medicare, New Delhi  at  CSIR, New Delhi  and the same were   exchanged in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Science and Technology  & Earth Sciences, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Dr Girish Sahni , Director General, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR, Shri B.N. Sarkar, Scientist F, DSIR, New Delhi, Dr M.M. Padhi, Senior Consultant and Former Deputy Director General , CCRAS, Delhi, Dr Chinmay Rath, Research Officer, CCRAS,  officials of M/s Ridhi Sidhi Medicare, New Delhi and other senior executives of NRDC.

The Hon’ble Minister of Science and Technology & Earth Sciences, Dr Harsh Vardhan appreciated the role of NRDC in commercializing technologies from the public funded R&D laboratories of not only Ministry of Science & Technology but also laboratories under the other ministries and helping realizing the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in creating a Startup nation. Dr Girish Sahni, Director General, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR, also appreciated the role of NRDC in commercialization of the important processes developed at CCRAS, New Delhi and CSIR-NEIST.

Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD, NRDC informed that the Corporation has signed a number of agreements with different companies but it is for the first time that three license agreements have been signed with a woman entrepreneur and  NRDC   has so far licensed  20 Ayurvedic/Herbal technologies developed by CCRAS and CSIR  to more than 40 companies in India.
