NLC celebrates International Day of Yoga-2016 !

NLC celebrates the International Day of Yaga-2016 in a big way with the theme of this year’s celebration “Healthy India”. The main aim of this year’s celebration is to train one and all not only in yoga but also to help them to be fit and healthy and strong.

Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD,NLC formally inaugurated the International Yoga Day 2016 celebrations at Lignite Hall,Neyveli and unveiled the plaques of 17 Yoga Training Centre’s organized by NLC in and around of Neyveli . In his International Yoga Day Message, Shri S.K Acharya stressed importance of Yoga in day to day life. He informed yoga is not only for preventive health care, it is a holistic approach which can interconnect our Mind, Body and Soul to have balanced attitude.  He urged everyone to utilize yoga training classes and Gym equipments provided by NLC to stay fit and embrace healthy choices to lead happy life.

As part of International Yoga Day, to inculcate Yoga in Students and Public, NLC inaugurated 19 Yoga Training Centres under CSR initiatives(including one in Barsingsar Project,Rajasthan, and one in NTPL Project Thoothukudi) in the following locations to organize Yoga Classes i.e NLC Girls HSS, Block-11, NLC boys’ HSS, Block-10, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Block-3, Jawahar School(CBSE), Block-17, Arabindo HSS,Block-19,Neyveli Ladies Club,Block-26, Ayurveda Dispensary, Block-8, Mandarakkuppam, HSS, Tagore HSS, Block- 29,Govt HS, Rehabitaion Centre(A Block) , Govt HighSchool Rehabilitation Centre(B2 Block) in Neyveli and Vallalar Gurukulam HSS, Vadalur, Govt,HSS,Puthu Nagar, Saraswathi Vidyalaya,Umanagalam , Sri Sarada Vidyalaya ,Virudhachalam and Panchayathi Union Middle School,Siruvathoor ,Aruna,HSS ,Eraiyour.nlc-indianbureaucracy

Shri Rakesh Kumar, Director (Finance) and Shri Subir Das, Director (Mines),Shri V.Thangapandian, Director (Power) of NLC graced the occasion .Senior officials, employees, Representatives of Trade Unions and Associations and School Children from various schools in large numbers participated in the programme.

After the inauguration, all the participants were given a practical session on Yoga which includes certain simple exercises by NLC yoga center Faculty.

Shri S.Sridhar, CGM/PR,Edn.& CSR delivered welcome address and briefed about newly established 17 Yoga centres under CSR. The newly inaugurated yoga centers with gym equipments are free for all and will function three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening. Everyone should get registered them with the respective center through Aadhar/Voter ID card.
