National Career Service signs MoUs with 11 Strategic Partners

In its endeavour to improve reach and quality of employment services, the National Career Service (NCS) signed of Understanding (MoUs) here today with eleven strategic partners. These partners are HT Shine, Amity University, Association Skill Training Providers (ASTP), Urban Clap, Merajob, Portea, Freshers World, Wheebox, First Job and Delivery Track in presence of Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State(IC). Speaking on the occasion, Shri Bandaru Dattatreya said that the Government is committed to provide more employment opportunities and signing of these MoUs is a step in this direction. In addition to linking all the employment exchanges on a national platform, the government is also partnering with leading industry players to develop a wide base of career related services for the youth.” He said NCS portal is going play vital role by addressing the gaps in job market.

Congratulating the parteners, Smt Sathiyavathy,OSD ,Ministry of Labour and Employment said that efforts be made to track and keep record of those job seekers and their career graphs benefitted.

Earlier, the National Career Service has partnered with leading organisations like Monster.com, Uber, Saral Rozgar, Quikrjobs, Indian Staffing Federation etc for enhancing quality and reach of employment services through the NCS network. These organisations have also participated in the various jobfairs organized under the NCS. Employment opportunities being a national priority, it is also equally important to provide information on jobs to the teeming and aspiring population. Since its launch, the NCS has grown significantly with over 3.6 crore job seekers, 9 lakh employers and mobilising over 1 lakh jobs in the last few months. The NCS portal facilitates job seekers to register online and employers to post vacancies/search candidates free of cost. The NCS services are also accessible through the over 1.5 lakh Common Service Centres.

The Principal Labour and Economic Advisor, Shri P.P. Mitra, said, “The Ministry of labour and Employment has leveraged technology in EPFO, ESIC and the NCS to assist employees and industry to avail benefits under various schemes in a seamless and transparent manner. These technology reforms will play a crucial role in making local and global opportunities available and accessible to youth so that they join the globally competitive workforce.” The Deputy Director General (Employment), Shri Pravin Srivastava, said, “The NCS is a vibrant platform where various stakeholders can partner in the delivery of employment services. The industry partners are invited to take advantage of this platform in sourcing their human resource requirement and assist youth in making the right career choice.” The NCS is trying to enhance the reach of employment opportunities,he added.

Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) is implementing the National Career Service Project to provide a wide variety of employment related services to jobseekers and youth using technology. National Career Service (NCS) initiative was launched in 2015 as an ICT based platform for providing career related services to public, at the URL www.ncs.gov.in. The Government has taken several initiatives through schemes like Make in India, Skill India, Digital India, Smart City, Start-up India etc. to boost the economy as well as generate large employment opportunities for youth. Various legislations have been amended to boost employment while addressing the concerns of wage security, social security and job security to workers. The Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) is being implemented by the Ministry where EPFO registered employers will be incentivised to boost employment. Under PMRPY, the 8.33% EPS contribution of the employer for new employment will be paid by the Government for the next 3 years.
