Indian Bureaucracy PSU Update: The South India itineraries of Maharajas’ Express were unveiled at ITB – Berlin on 08.03.2017. The itineraries are slated to commence from Sept. 2017.

At present, Maharajas’ Express has five itineraries with choices of 7 Nights/8 Days itineraries and 3 Nights/4 Days itineraries covering various destinations including Agra, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Balasinor, Ajanta, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Lucknow. Royal welcomes at Railway Stations and meals at exclusive venues are unique to the Maharajas’ Express experience.

With the growing demand, the train has planned itineraries in West and South India , which will commence in September 2017. The two itineraries, names Southern Sojourn and Southern Jewels with cover prominent destinations in West and South India.

The Southern Sojourn shall start in Mumbai on 09th September 2017 and shall cover Goa, Hampi, Mysore, Cochin, Kumarakom before ending in Trivandrum. The Southern Jewels shall start from Trivandrum on 16th September 2017 and shall end in Mumbai covering Chettinad, Mahabalipuram, Mysore, Hampi and Goa. Each journey shall be of 8 Days/7 Nights duration.

Maharajas’ Express, the newest in the list of luxury trains in India, is an attempt to recreate the royal journeys of yesteryears. Commencing operations in 2010, the train has become the Leading Luxury Train of the World with comparisons to the Royal Scotsman and the Eastern and Oriental Express. The train is the recipient of the coveted Leading Luxury Train of the World Award for five years in a row since 2012.

The 23 coach long Maharajas’ Express, with a capacity of 88 guests, is a cut above the rest in each aspect – the cabin experience, onboard dining, the excursions and events organized for guests. The train has state of the art features with in-room temperature control, on-board water filtration plant, spacious cabin sizes with no bunk beds, two bars cum lounges, two restaurants and of course a well trained on-board team to cater to global expectations.
