Lt Gen Devraj Anbu promoted as GOC-in-C, Northern Command

Lt. Gen. Devraj Anbu, AVSM, YSM, SM, GOC, 4 Corps, has  been promoted as Army Commander and posted as General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command w.e.f. 01.12.2016 vice Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, by  the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Commissioned in the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment in Jun 1980, the General has had a distinguished military career in which he has execute important Command and Staff appointments in India and abroad.
He has participated in Indian Peace Keeping Operations (IPKF) in Sri Lanka, United Nations Peace Keeping in Namibia, Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorist operations in Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir. He was awarded the Sena Medal Gallantry for operation in Siachen Glacier.The General has also been awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and YudhSeva Medalfor his distinguished service.
