Koldam Hydro Power Station achieves record Plant Load Factor (%) in India

NTPC India’s largest power company entered hydro power generation with the 800 MW Koldam Hydro Project in Himachal Pradesh on river Satluj.

Koldam began its commercial operation on 18.07.2015, In FY 2015-16 its generated 1794.71 Million units of electricity which is more than 105 % of Design Energy.

 Koldam HPS has achieved Declared Capacity (DC %) of 110.10 % in May, 2016 which is highest in the country for the month of May, 2016 and added another feather to its cap by achieving highest Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 107.27 per cent among all Central and State sector power stations in the country in July, 2016.

 With commissioning of Koldam (4×200 MW) HPS, NTPC has given impetus to hydro power growth in the country.
