The two day International Civil Aviation Organization  Asia Pacific Civil Military Cooperation  Regional Conference was held on 19th – 20th May 2016 at Radisson Blu Hotel New Delhi.  The conference was attended by 130 delegates from ICAO APAC Office at Bangkok, Regional Sub Office at Beijing, Civil and Military Representatives from Uganda, Indonesia, Malaysia and India was inaugurated by the Director General Civil Aviation India, Smt. M. Sathiyavathy, IAS and touched upon the robust relationship between the Armed Forces of the Union and State aircraft operators and the Civil Aviation Regulator and ANSP for seven long decades. The Member ANS in his welcome address highlighted the achievements of AAI as an Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) and its distinct role in being a catalyst in Civil Military Cooperation. Shri S. Raheja, Chairman AAI was special guests on the occasion.

The ICAO Asia Pacific RO-ATM, Len Wicks, set the goals and objectives of the conference and he added that India has performed creditably in Civil Military Cooperation and the ICAO APAC Office recognizes the excellent work in progress. He also placed on record ICAO APAC’s appreciation of the generic template of the Manual on Flexible Use of Airspace which is showcased by them as a model document for the States in the region. 

Shri S. Raheja, in his special address highlighted the fact that several new ATS Routes including Conditional Routes have resulted from the excellent Civil Military Cooperation in this country.
